Rating methodology
The seven criteria, their exact weights, the data we collect, how often we re-verify it, and how our affiliate relationships are kept out of the scoring.
Overall score = the sum of each criterion multiplied by its weight, rounded to one decimal.
The overall score is arithmetic, not editorial judgement. Each of the seven criteria is scored from 0 to 5, multiplied by the fixed weight below, and summed. The result is rounded to one decimal place. The weights are identical for every platform and are not adjusted per review.
Two of these rules are enforced by the build rather than by discipline: the weights must sum to exactly 1.0, and the published overall score must equal the weighted mean of its own breakdown. If either fails, the site does not build. That is what lets this page promise the figures match without asking you to take our word for it.
Scoring criteria and weights
| Criterion | Weight |
|---|---|
| Trading conditions | 20% |
| Platform & apps | 15% |
| Deposits & withdrawals | 20% |
| Assets & instruments | 10% |
| Education & research | 10% |
| Customer support | 10% |
| Safety & regulation | 15% |
- 20% Trading conditions
- Payout percentages on the assets a retail trader actually uses, the range of expiry times, spreads and commissions where they apply, and whether the advertised ceiling matches what the order ticket confirms.
- 15% Platform & apps
- Whether the order ticket states the exact payout before you commit, whether expiry is displayed unambiguously, whether trade history can be exported, and how the platform behaves on a mid-range phone.
- 20% Deposits & withdrawals
- Deposit and withdrawal methods, per-method minimums and fees, measured processing time, identity-verification requirements, and any condition that ties withdrawal eligibility to trading volume.
- 10% Assets & instruments
- The number of instruments per class actually tradable from a live account, not the number listed in marketing material.
- 10% Education & research
- Whether educational material teaches mechanics and risk, or markets a strategy as reliable. Material that presents any approach as dependable scores down, not up.
- 10% Customer support
- Channels offered, languages covered, and the measured time to a substantive answer to a specific question about withdrawals in a named country.
- 15% Safety & regulation
- Licences confirmed in the issuing regulator’s own public register, the scope of those permissions, investor-protection arrangements, and any published warning from a national regulator. An unconfirmed licence scores as unconfirmed, never as licensed.
Sources
A figure appears on this site only when it has been read from the operator's own published pages — the fee schedule, the help centre, the terms and conditions — or from a regulator's public register, and recorded together with the source URL and the date it was checked. We do not republish figures from other review sites, because a number repeated across five sites is not five sources; it is usually one unverified source copied four times.
Where we cannot complete that check, the field is recorded as Not disclosed rather than estimated. This is why several platform records on this site currently show blanks. A blank is an honest statement about our evidence; a plausible-looking guess would be a financial decision made on our authority.
Re-verification schedule
Every platform record carries three dates: when it was first reviewed, when it was last updated, and when its facts were last verified. Records are re-verified at least quarterly, and immediately when a reader reports a discrepancy or a regulator publishes a notice about the operator. The verification date is shown on the review itself, so you can judge for yourself how current the figures are.
Affiliate disclosure
BedahBroker earns a commission if you open an account through some of the links on this page. This never changes a platform's score: ratings are produced from the published methodology before any commercial relationship is considered, and the same criteria are applied to platforms we earn nothing from.
Concretely: scores are produced from the criteria above before any commercial relationship is considered, the same criteria are applied to platforms we earn nothing from, and no operator has ever been offered a score change in exchange for a partnership. If that ever stops being true, this paragraph comes down.
Report an error
If a figure on this site is wrong, tell us and we will check it against the primary source and correct it. Email editorial@bedahbroker.com with the page URL and the field in question. Corrections update the record's verification date, so the fix is visible on the page itself.
